TERMINOLOGY KIT
The Terminology Kit is a set of tools that helps users code their data to SNOMED CT and enhance their understanding of it.
It includes two functionalities for data coding (Semantic and Adapt), and two others to enhance understanding (Translate and Simplify).
The Terminology Kit also provides access to different versions of SNOMED CT, which are automatically updated.
Data coding functions to SNOMED CT
Semantic
A semantic search engine that allows users to find accurate results without the need to use exact words.Â
When used in conjunction with CATEGORY BINDINGS (TERMINOLOGY BINDINGS),coverage and precision increase significantly, enhancing the user experience and data quality.
It was developed to find a single concept at a time.

Adapt
Allows users to customize how they refer to SNOMED CT concepts
Use Examples
- Abbreviations (e.g., a user may prefer to write "PFS" to refer to Prolonged Fever Syndrome)
- Personal preference (e.g., a user may prefer to call 'IBU600C' to refer to 600 mg ibuprofen tablets)
- Customs and practices (e.g., a user may prefer to enter "1112" to refer to diabetes because they used that code in a previous system)
Objectives: Semantic and Adapt

Categories help improve the coverage and accuracy of search results (Semantic) by containing only concepts relevant to what the user is searching for.
Some categories include concepts authored by WHOA!, modeled by experts in clinical terminology. Authorship allows the availability of concepts that are not yet standardized but are used in practice by the healthcare industry. Thanks to authorship, the coverage of the results provided to users is increased.
